As a busy mom in New York City, I’m always on the move and I don’t have time to break in my shoes or deal with discomfort. I also need a versatile sneaker that I can wear to the office, to drinks after work, and on the weekends when I’m chasing my kids around. Luckily, Allbirds’ latest silhouette, the Tree Glider, has somehow heard me and delivered. It's a running shoe that easily turns into a running-errands and a running-into-friends shoe – you can wear the style anywhere.
According to Allbirds' product designer Jamie McLellan, "Every detail was designed with a singular intention: create a closet staple that perfectly suits an active lifestyle, moving effortlessly with you no matter what the day demands.” So, keep on reading to hear why I'm obsessed and why I've bought Allbirds shoes for every member of my family.
How Do the Allbirds Tree Gliders Feel?
Out of the box, it's a super comfortable sneaker. As is the case with my previous pairs of Allbirds (I'm obsessed with the brand, TBH), there's no breaking-in needed and the breathability is on point. Every step is plush and easy, whether I'm hopping on a bike or standing at my desk. The cushioning keeps my feet supported and the natural rubber outsole makes sure I get the right traction when I'm on the street or rushing to the subway. It also has a soft, sock-like upper that's knit and stretchy, and moves with you all day long, every day.
Best of all, you can even throw them in the washing machine when they need a refresh and they’re available in full and half-sizes for men and women. So, scroll down and check out the Tree Glider for yourself, plus the AllBirds Wool Runner and Tree Runner that I've bought for every member of my family. Your feet will thank you.

I wear these shoes every day, and they go with almost every outfit. I got them in black, but you can get them in a different color like gray, trendy white, and neutral beige. Best of all, when you slip your foot into the knit, sock-like upper, it feels like you're not even wearing shoes.

I gifted my mother these Tree Runners last year and she said, "Extremely comfortable. I usually need arch support, so I added inserts into the shoes, but after a week I realized I didn’t need them at all. The shoes were perfect as is. AllBirds are all-right with me. You can quote me on that.”

The Wool Runners are my other pair of Allbirds. Made of cozy merino wool, that's also temperature-regulating, they keep you warm without being stuffy and are super bouncy and comfy. The design is simple and they're a wardrobe staple for me. My brother has a pair of wool shoes, too, and calls them a "shoe for all seasons."

My problem with most ballet flats are that they're not comfortable over time. Not the case with the Tree Breezers. They're comfy, breathable, and effortlessly fit with any outfit. Plus, they're made with soft eucalyptus tree fiber and machine washable (so you can wear them with or without socks).
- Available colors: 9
- Available sizes: 5 to 11 (including half sizes)
Easy to slip on and off, these comfortable and breathable loungers are great for travel, walking the dog, and, basically, everything else. They're made of lightweight, eucalyptus tree fiber and, like almost every pair of Allbirds, go with your favorite outfits. Wear them with or without socks (they're machine washable).

What Are Allbirds Tree Gliders Made Of?
If you have sweaty feet, this is the comfortable sneaker you want in your closet. They’re made of an airy tree fiber blend that’s flexible, breathable, and keeps your feet cool and comfortable, plus sustainable materials like a midsole crafted with sugarcane-based green EVA that’s been infused with nitrogen (instead of chemicals). As I walk, I can feel the wind in the shoe. And, they weigh just 7.6 ounces per shoe, so they're super lightweight.
Where Do You Wear Allbirds Tree Gliders?
I've worn them everywhere. The Tree Gliders are a running shoe, a walking shoe, a hanging-out shoe. They're a style you can wear them to the gym, on a jog, or just standing around all day. Outside of working out, they have an athletic aesthetic that's sporty, but simple and elegant. You can pair them with jeans, leggings, work pants – really anything.
Along with my Allbirds' Tree Gliders, there are certain essentials I keep in my diaper bag. Here's my checklist.
